Got talent?
Been on hiatus the last few months, work related travel, more work and then finding time to enjoy the summer with family! Its been a busy summer for sure! More on that for another time.
Meanwhile, I have been blown away by a dance I saw on one of the reality TV show India’s got talent. Here is a dance troupe called Prince. They are laborers from Orissa. I am astounded by their choreography and originality. In their first appearance, they show the various Avatars of Krishna through their dance. This performance of theirs saluting India took them into the semi-finals. Amazing performance.
Another outstanding artist on “Ukraine’s Got Talent”. She is perhaps the best artist I have seen to date. Passionately immersed, watch her do amazing sand art
The music is in Russian. Here is the translation:
The song portrays Russia and World War II. You would see normal life in Russia, then you hear the original radio announcement that Germany has attacked Russia. Then you hear some songs from that era about WW2. The first song is about a soldier who doesn’t know what is going to happen to him, what is going to happen to his wife and kids, etc. The second song is about the people that died and it says that those people are still with us. To quote my friend “WW2 really was incredibly traumatic for Soviet Union“. You can see it in the emotional response it is getting from the viewers.
I am sure you have seen Diversity who won “Britain’s Got Talent”. Susan Boyle rendition of “I dreamed a dream” remains one of my favourite. You can see her bone chilling performance here.
