Oracle Solaris Cluster 3.3 launched today. It is wonderful to see yet another release go out on schedule and the hard work reflected in a solid product that is used across the globe.  The press and several other news sites picked up the news.

Tim Read, one of the Solaris Cluster engineers has written a new book called “Oracle Solaris Cluster Essentials“. This book is published a decade after the first one was published. Kudos to Tim!

This was a difficult release since there were several distractions during the course of the year. We were in the midst of an acquisition and there were changes around us. Also, we were getting familiar with our new company Oracle, its tools, processes & procedures; there was a lot of learning along the way.

I am very proud to be part of this team that steps up and delivers. This release goes out, yet again, on time!
