I have been interested in doing pottery and working on the wheel. I found the Black Bean Ceramic Art Center in San Jose close to home and enrolled in their beginner class early summer 2010. Ruben is a master potter and was our instructor. Will and Ruben have done pottery together for many years and started the studio together. They are very skilled and helpful to everybody. There are beginners and several experienced artists who are members of the studio.

My son, Rahul, has been learning to play the piano with Anna Semyanovskaya since he was seven. Anna has several senior students who will be graduating this fall. All of them have learned piano with her since they were six or seven. She had a special recital for all her senior students. I have seen most of them play since they were little. It was a special evening and a treat to watch all the young adults play, so beautifully! Anna has played a very special role in the lives of all of them. They adore her!

Been on hiatus the last few months, work related travel, more work and then finding time to enjoy the summer with family! Its been a busy summer for sure! More on that for another time.

Meanwhile, I have been blown away by a dance I saw on one of the reality TV show India’s got talent. Here is a dance troupe called Prince.  They are laborers from Orissa. I am astounded by their choreography and originality.  In their first appearance, they show the various Avatars of Krishna through their dance. This performance of theirs saluting India took them into the semi-finals. …
